The Gardens at Lowther Castle & Garden Today : Andrea Brunsendorf

Andrea is the current head gardener at Lowther Castle. She’ll talk about the gardens today andwill include current development projects and new maintenance strategies for one of the unique horticultural projects of the North. Andrea is an internationally trained horticulturist who began gardening with her grandparents in Germany, underwent a traditional German apprenticeship, studied botanical horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London, and earned an MSc in nature conservation from UCL. She combined ten years of horticultural education with internships across South Africa, Botswana, Israel, and the USA. After graduation, she led an 11-year revitalization of Inner Temple Gardens in Central London and later managed the 1,000-acre outdoor landscapes at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. She then returned to the UK to contribute to the ongoing development of Lowther Castle & Garden, a distinctive horticultural project in the North.
